„Florian-Stadl“ / The „Florian-Stadl“ The „Florian-Stadl“, formerly used as a hay loft and pig sty by the Monastery’s operating farm, and the thereunto attached “ Alter Pferdestall ” are in the process of being expanded in various construction stages to becoming the Festival Theater for the Carl Orff Festival.
Between 1997 and 2001 the Florian-Stadl was re-constructed into a 700-seat capacity theater, including 100 places in the gallery. Its rustic ambiance and remarkable acoustics, themselves an impressive architectural success, offers an appropriate platform for a wide range of events with its 610 sq meters’ surface area, including 100 sq meter stage, and 450 sq meter orchestra and rise; it’s a one-of-a-kind space for exhibitions, congresses, symposia and events. The Festival „Orff in Andechs“ staged productions of „Der Mond“ and „Die Bernauerin“ take place here. Musical performances and Orff Festival works are also offered during meetings and seminars as part of the background and ancillary activities programs.
