What do we do?
According to the points specified in our charter we pursue spiritual and cultural aims, as well as educational aims that are linked to both the past and the present of the Andechs monastery and we go about doing this in the following ways:

-  by holding educational events
-  by promoting investment and projects that are in line with the
religious and cultural responsibilities of Andechs monastery
-  by promoting religion
-  by promoting art, by promoting the safeguarding of cultural
values, by promoting music and by promoting the preservation of
   historical monuments.

The association pursues exclusively religious and non-profit-making aims.

For quite a few years now we have been able to offer our members and any other interested people many opportunities to discuss in depth various religious, cultural and historical questions. This has been done with the aid of a wide range of lectures and discussion events with renowned speakers and study trips to places of historical importance. Our aim is to keep up this good work. Furthermore we enjoy close relations with the monastery and the convent, in particular with the abbot and the prior.

A new organ for Andechs
By means of various initiatives, we are trying at the moment to secure the financing of a desperately needed, new organ for the famous Andechs Monastery Pilgrims’ Church. Sponsors are still needed.

Donations are welcome:

Freundeskreis Kloster Andechs e.V.
account number: 430014357
Kreissparkasse München Starnberg
(bank code: 702 501 50)

The new organ is to resound for the Andechs Jubilee in 2005 (the monastery will be 550 years old). It will also be the 20th anniversary of the Freundeskreis Kloster Andechs e.V. (Friends of Andechs Monastery reg. Association).
