Benedictine Hospitality
St. Benedict wrote in the 53rd Chapter of his Rule,

“All strangers who come should be welcomed as if they
were Christ” .

The care for the spiritual and physical wellbeing of the guest was always a special matter from the earliest beginnings. In Andechs Monastery they have many forms of expression. Through common prayer, spiritual song, meditation and dining together, the guest experiences acceptance in the community and the strength which evolves there from.

The Benedictine hospitality is evidenced in Andechs among other things through the possibility of being a temporary guest in the Monastery and being part of the daily rhythm of monastery life. Seekers, men of all ages who wish to experience a period of spiritual and soulful renewal, have the opportunity to create strength for daily life through the experience of peace gained from thought and meditation.

Another important part of the gastronomic concept of Andechs Monastery, as evidenced in the Bräustüberl and in the Klostergasthof, is the cultivated hospitality which is keeping with the centuries-old Benedictine tradition. In these traditional facilities and on the Beer Terrace, the gastronomic wellbeing of guests from around the world is attended to.
